Jacob D. Colvin, Esq.
Jacob Colvin joined Kern Segal & Murray in 2016 as a law clerk and was elevated to Associate after his admission to the California Bar. Mr. Colvin represents clients in a wide range of matters including insurance defense, public entity defense, personal injury, and wrongful death cases.
Mr. Colvin was born in San Francisco, CA. He received his Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University, School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts in History from American University in Washington, DC. While attending law school, Mr. Colvin clerked for the Hon. Magistrate Judge Maria-Elena James for the U.S. District Court. Mr. Colvin also worked in the San Francisco District Attorney's General Felonies Unit and as a summer intern for the First District Appellate Project.
In addition to graduating in the top third of his class, Mr. Colvin received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Appellate Advocacy and Legal Writing & Research. Upon graduation, Mr. Colvin received the 2015 Most Significant Contribution to the Litigation Center Award and the 2015 Scribes American Society of Legal Writers Award. Mr. Colvin was also accepted into Golden Gate University Law's School Pro Bono Honor's Society.
